Winter Percussion families:
The staff and I are super excited for this winter season! As the season begins this month, I wanted to share some important information about meeting, fees, and fundraising.
The mandatory meeting for parents (and students) will be:
Winter Percussion – Tuesday November 26th 6:00 pm.
The meeting is in the DY Band room and will be under an hour. At this meeting I will go over in detail the programs, the schedule/time commitment, financial obligations, and fund raising opportunities. For families in Winter Percussion, we will also go over the Dayton trip.
So you can begin to prepare for the financial obligation, we will do the following this season:
All students in Winter Percussion will be responsible for paying a $200 program fee to join. In the past we have had required raffle ticket sales and separate uniform fees/floor fees - this year the $200 will cover EVERYTHING for the entire season. If you would prefer to “fundraise” the $200 fee you will have the option to do that. This season we will have two fundraising opportunities; $5 raffle tickets (same as fall) and Pops Program Book ads. The program book ad form is currently on our website to print out and raffle tickets will be available to students next week.
We have the following deadlines for the financial obligation:
This is also a WGI Dayton trip year. Depending on how many students settle in the ensemble, the cost should be between $825-$880 (with the meal plan) or $745-$800 (without the meal plan). I’ll explain all this at the mandatory meeting. I’m looking at having three equal trip payments, each due at the end of January, February, and last one March. Unfortunately without Bingo we no longer have the funds in savings for scholarship or financial assistance. For that reason it’ll be imperative that families take advantage of the fundraising opportunities available. At the parents meeting I will share the line item budget for this trip so we have complete disclosure.
As always, feel free to contact me with any questions and I look forward to seeing everyone at the parents meetings in a few weeks!
